“It is better to take many small steps in the right direction than to make a great leap forward only to stumble backward.” ~Proverb
We all have areas in our lives that we want to change, myself included.
For example, I love food. All of it. When I was younger, I had the fastest metabolism when I was a kid. I was twig for most of my life. I was barely a hundred pounds when I graduated high school, I lost all my baby poundage even after 4 kids, and I was able to keep a steady weight for most of my years.
Now here I am, middle-aged, with my metabolism coming to a screeching halt. I know I need to change my food choices. But it’s difficult for sure when you’re accustomed to taking pleasure in every morsel that enters your mouth.
So, the whole concept of baby steps leading to big changes….I’m awful at it. But if I decided to give up even sugar even if only after 8pm, and stick with it for a while, that could possibly lead to an even bigger change down the road.
Now, I am going to apply this philosophy to my blog and to you. I want to be more engaging on my blog because I want to help those of you seeking help with their speech and communication. But of course in little tidbits, because I, too, need to keep the pace with small steps on a more frequent basis.
I will be on my blog 2-3 times per week to offer easy ideas, facts, and strategies for you regarding speech and communication, in small chunks to keep it palatable, of course. And I would love to hear from you if you have any questions regarding anything speech, language, and communication-related. As time goes on, I’ll open up to general questions about life just so I can have a casual conversation with my readers.
Aloha, Friends.
